Getting Started

Install the App

Download lanetrax on the app store here.

Position Your iPhone

Mount your iPhone on a stable tripod with a clear view of the lane and pins.

Start a Session

When you open the app, you can jump right into a new session. Right now there are only two session modes. The first is “Classic Mode,” which tracks every shot that is thrown on the selected lane. The second mode is “League Mode” which will track only your shots. Once you start a new session, follow the on-screen instructions to automatically detect the lane.DOs and DON’Ts for optimal lane detection:DOs:
  • Make sure the camera is fully zoomed into the lane (the bottom of the lane should be above the “Detect Lane” button, and the top of the pins should be near the top of the camera feed).
  • Make sure a full rack of pins (all ten pins) is present
  • For setting up the tripod, make sure it is aligned with the right gutter for righties, and the left gutter for lefties. This is to ensure your body does not block the camera from seeing your ball on the lane
  • The tirpod should be well behind the end of approach behind the ball return, and setup as high as possible.
DONT’s:
  • DON’T place the camera directly behind the lane (as the bowler may obstruct the view of the ball)
  • DON’T have the camera zoomed too far out.
  • DON’T have the tripod too far left or right of your lane. (i.e. don’t place the tripod in another lane)

Bowl & Track Shots

Once you’ve detected the lane (automatically or manually). LaneTrax automatically detects and records each shot instantly, providing real-time metrics.
